Eversight Director Earns Highest CEBT Exam Score
The Eye Bank Association of America recently recognized Collin Ross, Executive Director of Eversight International, for earning the highest score on the Certified Eye Bank Technician (CEBT) exam this spring.
While CEBT certification is not required for his position, Ross felt that developing a clear understanding of clinical techniques was essential to providing a higher level of service to surgeons and their patients.
“In my role, it’s important that I have an in-depth knowledge of both clinical and administrative aspects of eye banking,” he said. “I spend much of my time developing relationships with surgeons around the world where access to safe, reliable transplant services is limited. It is my first priority that they feel confident in Eversight’s services so they can focus on the most important part of their work – their patients.”
To prepare for the exam, Ross spent months observing tissue recovery, evaluation and processing procedures alongside Eversight’s highly-skilled laboratory technicians. CEBT certification requires passing both a written and practical test. Trainees must demonstrate proficiency in a variety of topics, including anatomy of the eye, knowledge of ocular diseases, EBAA Medical Standards, technical laboratory procedures and more.
In his role as executive director of Eversight International, Ross established Eversight Korea and develops relationships with eye banking partners throughout East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
